What is Snapseed QR Codes?
Snapseed offers a unique feature called QR Look, it helps photo enthusiasts edit their image easily and quickly. To do this Snapseed uses a technology called QR which means “Quick response“. It stores all the information about the edits applied to a photo, such as effects and adjustments. Users can then share or scan these QR codes to apply the same edits to other photos, making the process faster and more convenient.
For example, if you’ve created the perfect filter for a photo, you can save it as a QR code, and your friends can scan it to get the exact same look on their own photos.

How to Use Snapseed QR Code?

Step 1:
To use Snapseed QR codes, first open the Snapseed app, then click the + sign to select the image you want to edit.

Step 2:
After selecting the image, click on the icon given at the top as shown in the above image, then the QR Look option will appear on the screen.

Step 3:
Click on QR Look, you will see two options Create QR Look and Scan QR Look, Click on Scan QR Look and scan the QR code to apply editing filters and adjustments.
Snapseed Features
Tune image
The first menu is ‘tune image’ and it’s sliders. these are basic sliders to make some quick edits for an image swipe vertically to select a particular slider.
Brightness: In tune image the first slider is brightness . need to swipe horizontally to tune this particular slider .swiping right increases the overall brightness of the image. swiping left darken the image.
Contrast: Increasing contrast can make an image look more vibrant and dynamic. this adds more brightness to the lighter parts and makes the darker parts more dark. decreasing contrast makes the image more flatter.
Saturation: Saturation slider makes the images more or less vibrant . decreasing it completely turns the image gray scale or in simple terms black and white.
Ambiance: Ambient slider to the right enhances the overall atmosphere of the image to quickly pop the image.
Highlights: highlight lightens or darkens the brighter part of the image.
Shadows: Lightends or darkens the darker parts of the image.
Warmth: Adds a warm or cool color cast to the entire image.
Details:
Structure: Structure increases the amount of details in the image. it brings out the texture of objects throughtout the photo without affecting the edges the objects.
Sharpening: increase the amount of sharpness in the details of the image.
White Balance
Temperature: Balance colors between cool blue tones and warm yellow tones.
Tint: Tint balances colors between cool green tones and warm magenta tones.
Crop
There are numerous predefined presets for you to choose for croping including the free option.
to change the orientation of the cropped image , tap rotate icon
Rotate:
In rotate tool tap on icon to rotate the image 90degree clockwise. swipe horizontally to rotate manually.
Perspective:
prospective tools is mainly used to correct distortion. it has four option .
Expand
Expand tool to expand the image on all four sides or even one. there are filling option, white-black or smart fill.
Selective Filters
Selective filters can be used to precisely select certain areas of the image with similar colors. point where selection should be and zoom in or out for selection.
Swipe verticallly to get the option brightness , contrast , saturation and structure. swipe horizontally to tune with these tools, add more control points by tapping on the pllus icon for more edits.
Brush
Brush tool has four option and you can change the opacity values of the brush at the bottom using the arrows at increments of five.
Dodg & Burn :
with the dodge and burn option you can darken by lowering the brush value below zero and brushing on the image. remember more you brush the more effects it shows .
Enable the eye icon to preview the brush strokes. there are three options –
Exposure: Increase or decrease the exposure of selected areas in the image.
Temperature: Temperature make parts cooler or warmer tones.
Saturation: Saturation is used to increase and decrease the vibrancy.
Healing: healing tool is used to removes any distraction by just tapping on those areas. you just need to brush or tap to remove people and other unwanted distractions.
Vignette
Vignette can be used to emphasize the subject, just need to drag the circle at the intended position and resize it accordingly then you can darken the outer brightness which will create vegnette.
Masking
Masking is hinding or revealing portions of an edit or filter applied.
HDR- scape
This filter replicates high dynamic range photography in an instant. there are option to change the filter strength,brightness and saturation to get a controlled HDR effect. works best on landscape photos in my opinion.
Glamours glow
Glamour glow add a dreamy quality to the image with a soft glamorous glow. there are few presets here to choose and three sliders to tune further.
Glow: glow increases the degree of softening.
Saturation: Saturation adds or removes vibrancy.
Warmth: Warmth add a warm or cooler tones.
Tonal contrast: with tonal contrast you can have a fine control on contrast across highlights and shadows.
High tones: Add contrast to the hightlight in the image.
Low tones: Add contrast to shadows in the image.
Protect shadows & protect highlight which prevents details being lost of the contrast is increased on shadows and highlights .
Drama
Using drama you can add dramatic style with artistic effects with these preset. these effects can be controlled with filter strength and saturation slider.
Vintage
Vintage is one of my favorite filters, it has some cool presets to create film photos of 50s,60s and 70s. there are four sliders to control brightness, saturation , style strength and also vegnette strength.
Grainy film
Grainy film replicates shooting on colar film with a realistic grain look.tons of presets here . also can add more natural looking grain with the grain slider.
style strength decreases or increases the style of particular presets.
Grain adds natural-looking grain to the image. a value of ‘0’ will ensure no grain is added.
Retrolux
Retrolux add retro style with light leaks scratches and textures of film style. tap on any filter to select particular style. a shuffle looking icon appears on top when tapped randomizes the option further. the slider is to control brightness, contrast, saturation, style strenght, add or remove scratches and light leaks.
Grunge
Select grung tool to get grungy looking color and textures. there is a texture icon on the right and also a ramdom icon on left to select ramdom texture. there are about 1500 styles to choose from with brightness contrast and saturation sliders.
Black and white
Blank and white filter has quite a few options for different styles of black and white. also colors to choose from, the chosen color will turn brightest and opposite the darkest.
Noir
Noir is a filter to create a dark room inspired tone for cinematic black and white images. it has a wash slider to simulate an overprocessed print.
grain slider to create natural looking grain to the image.
Portrait
Potrait filters is obviously for protraits. this tool automatically detects portraits and has handy filters to smooth skin, bring clarity to the eyes and other combo filters to enhance the portrait.
Head pose
Head pose is another tool for portraits which has 3d option to change the angle of the face. can be swiped vertically or horizontally to get the desire look.
The slider is to change the pupil size and smile and change the focal length.
Lens blur
Lens blur filter has a toggle to change between radial and linear blur. the blur affects the outside of trasitional line.
Frames
Frames has tons of options to add frames to the image. you can taps the selected filter to get more random frames. frames width can be altered too.
Develop: raw editing
Snapseed support raw editing of the dng files. after importing a raw dng file you get this extra develop tool. these are the sliders available in the develop menu.
- Exposure slider adjust the amount of light in the image .
- Structure increases the details in the image.
- Temperature to adjust between cool blue and warm yellow tones.
- Tint adjust the balance between green and magenta tones.
Share styles with QR
If you want to apply same effect and ajustment on other image, you just need to import edit photo and select the save style to apply the filter. there is also an optioin to share a particular style to other users. tapping on the stacks icon select qr look and tap create qr look to create a qr code, which can be shared with other users.
